The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US-based technology major NVIDIA to jointly build an Artificial Intelligence (AI) University and advance AI adoption through a state-wide ecosystem of research, education, and innovation. The agreement marks a significant step toward positioning the state as a national leader in AI-led development.
Massive skilling push for engineering students
A key focus of the MoU is skilling. NVIDIA and the state government will collaborate to train 10,000 engineering students in AI technologies over the next two years. Engineering colleges across Andhra Pradesh will receive support in the form of curriculum guidance and technical training resources, aimed at enhancing their ability to offer relevant AI education at scale.
Research centres and advanced infrastructure
The partnership also includes the creation of dedicated AI research centres across Andhra Pradesh. These centres will focus on solving real-world challenges across industries and will support joint research efforts to deepen AI innovation and applications. To support these ambitions, NVIDIA will work with the state in identifying and deploying advanced computational infrastructure necessary for the proposed AI University, including software tools, platforms, and hardware systems.

Startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship drive
The MoU includes a commitment to promote entrepreneurship through support for up to 500 AI-focused startups from Andhra Pradesh. These startups will be encouraged to apply to the NVIDIA Inception Program, which offers access to NVIDIA’s technical resources, mentorship, and global partner network. This is expected to significantly strengthen the state’s growing innovation ecosystem.
AI Factories and national model vision
Another major component of the collaboration involves the development of AI Factories—dedicated innovation hubs that combine research, talent development, and industry collaboration. NVIDIA will share best practices and operational guidance based on its global experience in setting up such facilities.
The initiative reflects a broader goal to democratize AI access and make Andhra Pradesh a model for AI-led economic and social transformation in India.
