Rubrik and Pure Storage have announced a new cyber visibility integration aimed at reducing ransomware reinfection risks and ensuring clean, rapid data recovery across enterprise environments. The collaboration brings together Rubrik’s threat analytics and Pure Storage’s SafeMode snapshots to help organisations identify compromised data and recover confidently.
Scheduled for general availability in the second half of 2025, the new feature offers deep visibility into threats affecting both backup and production environments. The goal is to help CISOs and IT leaders pinpoint clean recovery paths when facing high-stakes ransomware or data corruption scenarios.
Integrated threat detection across backups and snapshots
The integrated offering enables real-time scanning of VMware workloads on Pure FlashArray. Rubrik continuously inspects hash indexes for signs of compromise, including encryption patterns and anomalies. When malicious activity is detected, Pure1 Workflow Automation cross-references this intelligence to tag impacted volumes and snapshots.
This means organisations can instantly identify which data copies are safe to use and initiate recovery from verified clean sources. Recovery options include both Pure Storage’s immutable snapshots and Rubrik’s secure backups, giving flexibility for full or selective restoration depending on the incident scope.
Reducing recovery time while improving response
One of the major benefits of this integration is a significant reduction in recovery time objectives (RTOs). The platform can restore hundreds of terabytes within minutes, helping enterprises avoid operational downtime and maintain service continuity.
