State-owned infrastructure giant NBCC (India) Ltd has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RailTel Corporation of India Ltd to jointly develop data centre projects both domestically and internationally over the next five years.

Five-Year Pact to Build Advanced Digital Infrastructure

In a regulatory filing made on Tuesday, NBCC said the partnership will focus on developing data centre projects from concept to commissioning, combining the core strengths of both organizations. The agreement is expected to significantly boost the government’s push for digital infrastructure in India and help the companies expand their global footprint.

According to the MoU:

  • NBCC will provide Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services, including construction of data centre buildings and civil/passive infrastructure.

  • RailTel, a Mini-Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, will be responsible for Planning, Designing, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning (SITC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of IT-related infrastructure for data centres.

Leveraging Complementary Strengths

This collaboration is aimed at leveraging the core competencies of both organizations.
