HCLSoftware Launches Domino 14.5 With Sovereign AI Focus

HCLSoftware has unveiled Domino 14.5, a major upgrade designed to help governments and regulated industries manage AI workloads while ensuring full control over data. Launched on July 7, the latest version features Domino IQ, a built-in sovereign AI extension that enables organisations to host, train, and control their own AI models on local infrastructure.

This release aims to eliminate dependence on foreign cloud platforms and supports full compliance with global regulations, including the European AI Act. It also helps public sector agencies protect sensitive data stored in emails, chats, and video recordings by keeping all digital operations within sovereign environments.

Security-first collaboration backed by European cloud partner

The updated Domino+ suite introduces secure messaging, file sharing, and video collaboration tools built for privacy-first deployment. It is now certified under Germany’s BSI standards for information security and integrates security event and incident management (SEIM) features to detect and respond to threats in real time.

HCLSoftware’s platform is supported by IONOS, a leading European cloud provider, reinforcing the product’s sovereign infrastructure credentials. The company says over 200 government agencies are already using the suite to manage confidential communications.

Accessibility and digital independence at the core

Domino 14.5 also complies with the European Accessibility Act, ensuring inclusive digital access across web interfaces. The solution provides a viable alternative to SaaS platforms that may be subject to foreign jurisdiction and control.

With this release, HCLSoftware is positioning itself as a technology partner for governments, banks, and regulated industries seeking to modernise collaboration while staying in full control of their data, models, and infrastructure. The move reflects a growing global shift toward digital sovereignty and regulatory compliance in enterprise software.
