Dai-ichi Life Sets Up GCC with Capgemini in India

Dai-ichi Life Holdings and Capgemini have entered into a multi-year agreement to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India. The centre will be a key component of Dai-ichi Life Group’s digital transformation strategy, designed to strengthen its internal capabilities in technology, data, and cybersecurity.

By leveraging India’s skilled workforce, the initiative aims to build long-term in-house expertise while accelerating the delivery of digital solutions. The partnership will initially support markets in Japan, the United States, and Australia, with expansion to other regions planned based on future demand.

Build-operate-transfer model supports sustainable capability building

The GCC will follow a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model. Capgemini will be responsible for setting up and operating the centre during its initial phase, delivering services that include advanced software development, artificial intelligence and data solutions, and enhanced cybersecurity practices.

This structure is designed to enable a smooth transition of knowledge and operations to Dai-ichi Life, allowing it to gradually internalize digital capabilities without disruption. The approach aligns with the company’s long-term vision of creating a more self-reliant and agile technology ecosystem.
