Chhattisgarh CM Lays Foundation for AI Data Park

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday laid the foundation for the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based data centre park in Sector-22 of Nava Raipur. According to a statement issued by the state government, the project is expected to significantly boost employment and digital infrastructure in the region.

A Strategic Investment in AI Growth

Spread across 5.5 hectares, the data centre park will be operated by RackBank Datacenters Private Limited. A portion of 2.7 hectares will be developed as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated exclusively to AI-based services. The project is poised to create around 500 direct and 1,500 indirect job opportunities, with preference given to local residents.

The first phase of development will commence with a capacity of five megawatts, with plans to scale up to 150 megawatts. The project anticipates an additional investment of approximately ₹2,000 crore as expansion progresses.

Building India’s Digital Backbone

Beyond data storage and processing, the park is designed to deliver a broad spectrum of advanced services including AI, healthtech, defence, fintech, and data analytics. The infrastructure will include GPU-based high-end computing facilities, live data streaming capabilities, and AI processing resources built to global standards.

Services such as GPU-based computing, AI-driven analytics, and real-time data processing will be integrated under a single roof, positioning the data centre as a critical enabler of India’s digital future.

“This is not only a data centre. It is the digital backbone for a new era of growth and empowerment,” Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated during the foundation ceremony.

Enabling New Opportunities Across Sectors

The state government highlighted that the data centre will contribute to advancements in areas such as precision agriculture through accurate weather forecasting and crop management tools, directly benefiting farmers. Additionally, it aims to improve access to education for tribal populations residing in remote areas by leveraging digital connectivity.

The launch of this AI-focused infrastructure marks a major step forward in Chhattisgarh’s vision to become a significant contributor to India’s digital economy.
