Infosys BPM Rolls Out AI Agents for Invoice Automation

Infosys BPM, the business process management subsidiary of Infosys, has unveiled a new generation of enterprise AI agents designed to automate and optimise invoice processing. Introduced as part of the company’s flagship Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, the latest update integrates Agentic AI capabilities to move from a human-led, AI-assisted model to a fully autonomous AI-first approach.

Powered by Infosys Topaz and Microsoft’s advanced AI stack, the new solution aims to redefine finance and accounting services by delivering intelligent automation at scale. The AI agents come equipped with robust decision-making abilities, enabling them to handle dynamic workflows, adapt to evolving business rules, and execute complex tasks with minimal human involvement.

From assisted to autonomous: AI takes the lead in finance

This transition to an autonomous workflow marks a significant leap in operational efficiency and scalability. The Agentic AI solution allows for end-to-end management of accounts payable processes—managing data extraction, validation, approvals, and exception handling in real time. These AI agents are embedded with capabilities like multimodal data interpretation, secure communication, and predictive intelligence to minimise errors and accelerate processing.

The solution also incorporates Microsoft Azure’s AI Foundry, along with large language models and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) tools, ensuring a secure, enterprise-grade deployment. Infosys BPM says the combination provides a reliable, future-ready solution for organisations seeking to eliminate manual dependencies in finance functions.

Deployed with Americana Restaurants to pioneer enterprise-grade automation

The Agentic AI-powered solution has already been deployed with Americana Restaurants—the largest out-of-home dining and QSR operator in the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan, operating over 2,600 restaurants. Infosys BPM had earlier implemented its Cloud-based Accounts Payable solution at Americana, and the new AI agents are now being integrated to make the process even more intelligent and self-governing.

According to Americana’s CFO and Chief Growth Officer Harsh Bansal, the move has already delivered faster turnaround, improved accuracy, and reduced manual workload. The collaboration reflects a growing industry trend where organisations are using advanced AI solutions to boost agility and unlock scale.

Strengthening Infosys’ AI play in real-world enterprise operations

The launch of Agentic AI follows closely on the heels of Infosys’ Agentic AI Foundry announcement and highlights the company’s ambition to lead in the enterprise AI domain. With over 200 AI agents already built and more than 400 active AI projects underway, Infosys is accelerating the use of generative and agent-based AI in real business environments.

By combining Infosys Topaz’s capabilities with Microsoft’s cognitive services, the company aims to deliver intelligent, evolving systems that enhance business value and reduce friction in critical operational areas. As enterprises increasingly seek solutions that are not just smart but also autonomous by design, Infosys BPM’s latest offering signals a shift towards future-proof finance automation.
